No they don’t….. They digest the keratin and body fluids chemically while the insect/animal is trapped and absorb the nitrogen in the body of its prey. This adaptation was selected for allowing them to exist in nitrogen poor soils where competition for sunlight and soil is low. They’re still photoautotrophs. Sorry.

they still kill a living animal to get some material they lack in their normal diets and probably wouldnt be able to survive long without doing so
